I am running a fresh install of wordpress on nginx, Centos 6 cloud VPS, just setting up w3tc to make sure everything runs properly before loading my content. Running W3TC compatibility check shows this:

    HTML Tidy extension: Not installed

nginx.conf and wp-content are not writeable as well

I have installed php-tidy, reloaded nginx, but the problem remains.

The VPS box came with apache/php, so i turned off httpd. Initially I thought it was because the php module was still running as apache so I changed the www.conf files in php-fpm to use nginx as user. However that didnt change anything one bit and I’m reluctant to leave nginx.conf and wp-content permissions at 777

    Anyone else has this problem?
