html tags automatically added to textarea

    Is there any way to keep html tags from being automatically added to textarea fields? It seems like this started since a recent update my client did and now I’ve been asked to go in and fix that. They are definitely using the wrong field type so also acceptable would be a way to change a textarea field to an inputtext type.

    if you don’t want html tags, just switch field from “editor” to usual textarea.

    we use standard wordpress textarea and editors, so they works the same as main content field
