html tags are removed

The problem iam facing right now is a strange one. If i start a content in the text editor with a html tag . For eg:
If I type some text ,and view the frontend the html code gets displayed like this strong>text

So the start ie ‘<‘ is being stripped off and the the text is not rendered bold.I noticed this happens only to the start of the content.

If there are tags inside, it displays correctly.

I have tried disabling the visual editor when embedding but of no help.

I would really appreciate if somebody could help me here.
