HTML site to WordPress both in Root – 301 redirect

  • I have an html based site in the root directory, and have designed a replacement site with wordpress. I developed the wordpress site in a sub-directory, then moved the wordpress files to the root.

    The redirect is not going smoothly. The problem is not evident to me.

    Using the latest version of the plugin Redirection by John Godley, I have entered 404 redirections from the old .html page to the new corresponding wordpress page.

    /YUKON/yukonfood.html/

    target url
    /celebrate-yukon-food-and-other-agricultural-products/

    Have I entered the redirections incorrectly?
