HTML Output – Excluded fields

Cannot upload a screenshot here, so I’ll try to describe. Like 10 levels of DIVs for 1 title/image/excerpt block. YIkes!

Basically, it appears that you write all the HTML for even fields EXCLUDED. If the field is set to be “exclude from display”, the HTML for it should not render.

In my case, for a simple featured post block, I added all my fields and excluded all but one of them, Post Title. Then, I rewrote that output with custom HTML (which included my classes). I did this especially hoping to simplify the output.
