• I had HTML altering turned on yesterday when testing with Cloudflare and the CDN setting.

I found that unacceptable because it would only rewrite some images (my theme uses a lot of images injected into css).

Today, I changed the setting to varied image response and had it working with Rewrite.

Then I read that I should still enable “alter HTML” simply due to the fact that people would be served WEBP images, but the browser saves them as JPEG/PNG images. O-kay. But then, time is spent rewriting HTML.

I figured I would try it out. When I enabled “Alter HTML”, nothing happens. The tags are not replaced with <picture> tags.

I have, of course, cleared all the possible cache I can, including memcached and Cloudflare. The plugin still doesn’t rewrite HTML.

I enabled “replace HTML”, “dynamically load picturefill”, “reference webps that haven’t been…”, and content filtering hooks. And as mentioned, this worked yesterday.

I haven’t added any other plugins since then.
And the images are converted to webp (with cwebp).
