HTML Minification removing spaces from

Hi Ante,

When WP Performance is enabled, it is minifying the HTML output. In this process it is removing spaces from inside otherwise empty spans; eg. <span> </span>. This is removing spaces that should exist in our content. I believe an empty span is valid HTML so I don’t think the minification process should remove these spaces, would it be possible to fix this, or have some kind of setting that allows us to turn the HTML minification off?
