• Elementor is one of the best page-builders on WordPress. It is easy to use — all the codes for viewport ‘responsiveness’ and other editing are handled automatically at back-end.

But, there are some serious issues that need to be fixed. Here is one serious bug/issue that needs urgent attention of the Developers of the Elementor.

Many of us use ‘html’ code to have absolute control over the design/layout of a page. When switching between the Visual and Text editor, paragraphs – most of the time, run together like one big text block. What it means is that; it strips most of the HTML markup, especially the “<p>” markup.

Switching back and forth between the Text and Visual mode seems to re-introduce the paragraphs on both the left and right panels. But, when we save it (whether in Visual mode or in Text mode), the saved version – most of the times, gets saved as a single large text block!

The only solution is to keep on trying again and again until it finally (somehow!) recovers/regains the ‘html’ markups, and the page is saved OK.

This phenomenon has become more persistent since the last Elementor update around a month ago (Nov-Dec 2019). Before that, if one was careful to save the page in Visual mode, it would retain all the markups.

Editing in HTML tab is also no use since the next time it is opened in the widget, it is shown in the Visual tab and it breaks the markups.

Any ideas – why it is happening – why it has become more persistent – and, what is the solution. It is apparently a bug that needs fixing.

BTW, this issue has also been posted at the “github”. Please look into it and respond.

    Thank you.

I’m having the same problem. Any response on this? Thanks.

Nop.No response from the Elementor team.
It is just one of the problems/bugs with this page builder — there are quite a few other. Users keep on requesting help, both here and at Github, but it seems that these people don’t care.
I also use SiteOrigin on my other sites — It serves the bill when you need absolute control over the layout. And, the developers there are top-notch when it comes to giving a helping hand — that too, for the Free Versions!

I hope the Elementor guys will learn the value of offering some reasonable support to the users. Anyhow, the “free version” in the Freemium scheme also serves as the “Front” of the business!
