HTML in customizer now being printed to screen

    Has anyone observed that HTML in the customizer text fields for this theme are now being printed to the screen? This started sometime in the last week.

    < and > tags are being stripped whereas they had worked before.

  • I only noticed it this morning after doing the theme update

    I just tried to go back to the last version and crashed the site using a backup, eventually deleted Zerif Lite and uploaded a new copy of a previous version.

    That solved the html not working problem, but I suddenly have a new problem, my browser tabs are showing the url for the page and not the page title ???

    Yeah, I have the same problem with the html characters now appearing in the contact section. Would appreciate any fix via CSS Custom??

    CSS won’t fix it. They changed escaping in the latest version and that has caused the problems. I replaced all of my esc_html functions with wp_kses and that got me most of the way there. The Big Title and About Us sections were not affected by that modification so I just hard-coded those to be done with it for now. This is definitely on the developers, not the users or hosts. I’ve started a GitHub issue on this and linked to this thread so maybe they’ll pop in.

    The website is looking terrible, can somebody please a temporary fix until this is resolved?

    The answer to your question is immediately above your post, be patient, wordpress take a few days to approve any new upgrades, it hopefully will come your way and mine and every else waiting for this in the next day or so.

    Yes, the update usually takes some days until approved. If you need a temporary fix, you can download the new files from here: https://github.com/Codeinwp/zerif-lite and replace the current ones with those.
