I have the problem that I would like to offer a product as html or htm file for download, but the download link is not displayed after the payment process and also not in the mail. As soon as I rename the file extension this works without problems. Even if I am registered in WordPress as administrator and then make a test purchase as registered administrator, the download is offered to me.
I also can’t pack the file into a zip archive, because once I have opened the file, it will be changed on the FTP-Server, so that there is another content in the HTML file for the next sell/download. (a new unlock code, which I sell)

I hope someone can help me…
    Thank you very much!

    Hey there!

I don’t think that offering a download of a .html file will work as you are wanting, simply because the browser doesn’t interpret that as a file to download, but a page to open in a tab.

I would recommend either using some other format for the download, or there might be a workaround you can implement at the server level to change the default file behavior.

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

    Thank you for your reply!
It works if i am logged in as Administrator… Then the download-link is shown after Payment. Why it does not show if i am not logged in as Administrator? it is very strange. Woocommerce support this filetype html and htm and let me choose it. There must be a Bug…?

    Thank you very much.
