• I’m completely new to WordPress, so I had somebody develop the site for me. Admin control was transferred over and I set up a new UN and PW (with admin rights). When I “edit lazy blocks” and make any change to the html block, then select “update,” I get a little pop-up saying “post updated.” Refreshing a new window of the live site doesn’t show the change, and I’ve tried deleting cache/history/cookies, new browser, different computer, different house, as well as use my phone. Refreshing the HTML edit window removes the edit, so it just doesn’t save or propagate the save to the live site. The person who developed the website gave me temporary admin rights to the stage environment, and I was able to make and save the edits just fine. Conversely, I can give him temporary admin rights to my site again and he can make/save edits. He said the “live” version was just a direct copy of the staged version, and he has no idea why there would be any difference.

  • The behavior that you describe looks like the HTML filtering feature of WordPress. That could explain the loss of the HTML elements after saving the post. Normally, WordPress allows unfiltered HTML for users with an Admin account (or Super-Admin in case of a WordPress Multisite).
If your website is not a multisite it still could be a caching issue. Have you tried editing or creating another post? Does it save custom HTML in there?

Thank you for your reply Peter. I understand the caching concern but not the HTML filtering feature. Just to clarify, I can view the code with “PHP and “Frontend” selected, make the change directly in the HTML editor, select “Update,” and I get a “post updated” confirmation. If I go back to the main Lazy Blocks tab and immediately go back into the page I just edited, the change didn’t save. Does that still sound like a filtering issue?
