Hi, my issue here is that whenever I open the HTML editor in any kind of block in the page this error message pops up: “This block contains unexpected or invalid content. Attempt block recovery” and the block just disappears or it’s corrupted in a way that either I lose all the content in the block or I simply cannot use it anymore. The strange thing is that the error message not only pops up when I edit the code but also when I don’t(seems like it’s triggered just by opening the HTML editor). Anyone knows why this happens?

  • Hi @metisanalytics,

    Thanks for choosing Neve!

I tested this on my end, but it is working as expected for me, so there may be a plugin conflict on your end that could cause this issue. Please install the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, enable the troubleshooting mode which will deactivate all plugins and check if the issue persists. If the problem doesn’t occur anymore, it means it was indeed caused by a plugin conflict and you should reactivate the plugins one by one, until you find the culprit. Then, replace that plugin with an alternative one.

    I hope this helps!

    Have a nice day!

    Hello @luciamarinescu,

I’ve tried doing as you suggested but once I clicked the button to go into Troubleshhoting Mode, this error message popped up “We were unable to copy the plugin file required to enable the Troubleshooting Mode.”.

Plus I tried deactivating all my plugins manually one by one, and seems like plugins are not the problem in this case.

    Hi @metisanalytics!

Please provide us a screencast showing how this error occurs and also the URL to your site so we can take a closer look at the issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi @luciamarinescu,
It looks like I cannot attach files to this comment, so, excuse the question, but, how do I send you the screencast?
As for the URL, here it is: metisanalytics.io/.

    Thank you in advance,

    Hello @metisanalytics!

If you’re using Google Chrome, you can use this extension to create screencasts: https://www.vidyard.com/govideo/.
If not, then you can use this solution: https://www.screencast.com/.

After making the screencast, a link directing to it should be available and you can paste that link here.

    Hello @luciamarinescu,

Thank you for your suggestions, here is the link to the screencast: https://share.vidyard.com/watch/ynGdmkCuhuJRHrgKGwbeQE?

I hope this will help you better understand the issue.

    Hi @metisanalytics,

Thanks for providing the screencast, now the behavior is more clear! However, this is not an issue with Neve. You can switch to a default theme like Twenty Twenty One and you’ll see that this behavior is the same, so it’s not related to the theme and there’s nothing we can do about it on our end. The other settings from the editor should work as expected and they allow you to make the same changes as you would in the HTML editor (for example changing the color of the text, as you tried to do in the screencast).

Thanks for understanding and have a nice day!
