HTML being stripped out of restriction message

  • The restriction message under each post title on the home page was not providing any login form. (Other pages clicked from the top menu were.) So I tried this as the restriction message:

    <a href="https://www.blogfellows.org/wp-login.php">Please log in to view.</a>

    But it does not come up as a link. When I do a “view source” I see just plain text.

    Any thoughts?
