HTML 5 Player not appearing in [podcast_episode]

PS: I have tried these steps suggested in other posts:

There could be a few reasons for this:

You have not set the audio player to appear for the full content of an episode – you can change this in the Podcast -> Settings -> General area of your WP dashboard
Your episode audio file is a reference to a folder and not a specific file
The audio file is password protected
Your site is running on an IP address and not a domain name
You have a plugin installed that conflicts with the WordPress media player
If any of these are true for you then that will most likely be the reason that the audio player is not showing on your podcast episodes. Take a look to see if any of these solve you issue.

I’ve got exactly the same problem, would be great if this could be resolved.

Were either of you ever able to find a solution for this? I’m having the same issue. The HTML 5 player is only showing with Gutenberg blocks and I don’t want to use them on the site I’m working on. Everywhere else that I try to display one – widgets, shortcodes – the standard compact player is showing.

No, sadly not. I’m hoping this will be fixed with the next update!

Hi there, apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this. It seems that in the v2.5.2 release this has reverted back to displaying only the compact player. Our development team will be addressing this here shortly to get the Castos player displaying when this shortcode is used. Ought to have an update out here shortly.

In the meantime if you wanted to roll back to v2.5.1 the player/shortcode is working as expected there.

Thanks for your patience as we work through this issue. We’ve resolved this and the fix is coming in v2.5.4 which should be out later this week or the very first part of next week. Once that’s out please let us know if this resolves the issue you’re seeing with the shortcode.
