Hello, this plugin is by far the best and easiest to configure yet available from the WordPress repository. Further, a giant Thank You to the author for targeting SHOUTCast. However, it seems unable to overcome the same limitations experienced with all HTML 5 audio players, whereby a LIVE stream does not resume LIVE, and instead plays right where the user paused the audio.

Thus, for example, attempting to use the HTML 5 audio for a live call-in talk show is made impossible, as depending upon how long a user pauses the stream, upon resume, the topic has changed due to said user hearing stale audio.

I very much hope there is a manner in which to overcome this limitation soon, perhaps through a stop() function in place of pause so that when playback is resumed the end user is delivered the real-time location of the stream?

Hi, I was remembering someone wrote that instead of stop – you can’t – you should use like a new audio stream adrress like “” (none address) that will destroy the previous/original connection and when you press play again will create the connection again from the moment you press – avoiding the paused stuff is been kept by the paused audio but not paused original connection. Perhaps it can helps… Very nice player and standalone too!!
