.htaccess rule doesn’t work

    Good morning,

    Two weeks ago I gave this plugin 4 stars because of a problem. The author kindly answered me and he gave me some solution to solve it. I tried deactivating all the plugins, I tred reinstalling the plugin, I checked my .htaccess file and I found the rule, but it still doesn’t work. The file link is mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/upf-docs/file.extension, and the redirect to mysite.com?file=file.extension doesn’t work.

    Is there any other solution? Is it a problem with my hosting provider?

    I have another question: is it possible to show the login page to a guest if he tries to acces a file?

    Hi @thefalcons,

    Thanks for your query. If you see the code in your .htaccess file and the redirect is not working, you might need to talk with your host and they can look what’s wrong.

    As per your other request, showing the login page to guest user is not available in the free version but is available with the pro version of the plugin. It also allows showing a registration page that you can customize. You can learn more here – https://userprivatefiles.com/
