    Hello!

I have my WP set up with a splash page. The actual blog is at /index.php. When you click the “Enter” graphic on the splash page, it won’t go to the blog (/index.php). It’s configured to do that, but all of a sudden it just…stopped. I contacted my webhosting support, and they said it looks like a “htaccess rewrite” problem and that they don’t handle tech support for third-party apps.

Of course, I have no idea what the problem could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here’s my site: https://www.nappilyevahaftah.net

    whooami,

That’s the problem — sometimes it’ll work, sometimes it won’t. If you’re seeing the maintenance plugin, then it’s at the /index.php page.

I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the inconsistency.

have you disabled the plugin? I mean, is THAT the problem, you want THAT to go away?

thats the first thing to check.

Futhermore that plugin is notorious for not actually acting like its disabled. Ive actually experienced it.

Start by making sure it’s disabled in the plugins page. Then go in via FTP and delete the file itself.

No. The plugin is not the problem. When you click “Enter” you should be taken to /index.php. What’s on that page is irrelevant. The point is you should end up there.

As I stated earlier, sometimes when you click on “Enter” it does…nothing. Sometimes it goes to the /index.php page, as it should.

thats not a mod_rewrite problem, since if that were the case it wouldn’t be an intermittent occurance.

Hmmm…I don’t know. Perhaps someone can offer some insight into what it could be.

I appreciate your willingness to help me.
