• Hello:

    I need to know what to change in the multi-site htaccess and w3total cache rewrite rule to get them to work with the CJ Affiliate plugin rewrite rules, which are:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^i([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+).html$ index.php?action=cjForward&cjStore=$1&cjID=$2&cjUrl=$3&cjSku=$4

    the WP Multisite rules in my htaccess file are:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    # END WordPress

    #uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/$ index.php [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !.*wp-content/plugins.*
    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^.*/wp-admin$
    RewriteRule ^(.+)$ $1/ [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule . - [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(wp-.*) $2 [L]
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?(.*\.php)$ $2 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    # END WordPress Multi-Site

    and then there are the W3 Total Cache Rewrite Rules:

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
        RewriteEngine On
        RewriteBase /
        RewriteRule ^(.*\/)?w3tc_rewrite_test$ $1?w3tc_rewrite_test=1 [L]
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?([a-z0-9\-\.]+\.[a-z]+)\.?(:[0-9]+)?$

    </IfModule>

    I included the W3Total Cache rewrite rules because I don’t know how they interact with the WP Multi-site rewrite rules.

    According to the installation instructions for the CJ affiliate plugin, the rewrite rules were placed ABOVE the WP rules, but when the generated link is clicked it returns a 404 error.

    There are a lot of Rewrite Rules here and from what I understand the CJ affiliate plugin works with multisite but something in the WP multi-site htaccess needs to modified.

    I need some help here and as soon as possible too.

    Thanks to all in advance.

    the WP Multisite rules in your htaccess are duplicated. You were supposed to REPLACE the old stuff with the MultiSite part, not ADD ON.

    # BEGIN WordPress
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

    # uploaded files
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule  ^[_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
    RewriteRule  ^[_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/(.*\.php)$ $1 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]
    # END WordPress

    Also – Make sure W3TC’s section of code is ABOVE WordPress’s.
