.htaccess problems

    I’ve copied the .htaccess information from the permalinks to an .htaccess file and moved it to the root directory of the site, but after I’ve done that, I can’t do anything. Anything I try to access on the site – the wordpress blog, the wordpress admin, even unrelated html pages – isn’t returned, and I get this message:

    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

    Ignore me. I need to keep my grubby little mitts away from the support forums and do a little more legwork myself first. It’s working now. Really sorry to waste your time.
