    Hallo,

I have moved my WordPress installation from my personal webspace https://wwww.domain1.de/subfolder via your plugin to the customers webspace https://www.domain2.de.

To protect my own webspace https://www.domain1.de I have used a .htaccess in the main dir.

After moving the WordPress installation on my customers webspace via the install.php file from the plugin, the browser asks for the .htaccess password from my personal webspace although I am on my customers webspace. The typical .htaccess popup which comes up when I enter the page shows the url of my personal webspace https://wwww.domain1.de/.

I have checked the WordPress’s own .htacess file on the webspace https://www.domain2.de and they look ok.

I have no idea how to remove my “old” password protection on the new webspace. I have deleted all .htaccess files on thc customers webspace, but the browser still asks for the user and password.

I hope you can help me.

    Best regards
    Flo

  • Hey Flo,

That is a bit odd… A few things you might try.
    1. Restart Apache on the domain2.de
    2. Try another browser or clear all cache on your current browser.
    3. Make sure you don’t have any settings in your local computers hosts file
    4. Do a global search for all .htaccess files on the system to make sure you don’t have one in a hidden spot

    Hope that helps!

I have fixed the problem. The problem was that I had a hard coded part in my theme with the old url. So only for some images a user/password was needed.

    Thanks a lot.

    Excellent! Thanks for the update!
