htaccess messed since 3.1?

    Why is my htaccess not working right on wp 3.1? This is for my test setup at home. It’s not suppose to show up for any but my network but I can see an unstyled wp at work and an unstyled wp on firefox at home, a styled wp on IE at home; if accessed thru my dyndns name rather than 192.168. If I delete the htaccess it says 403 Forbidden everywhere. The htaccess file is in the wp root directory, worked fine the other day.

    The rules are:
    order deny,allow
    deny from all.
    allow… from 192.168.whatevers(4 ip addresses)

    If any other info is needed let me know.

    Seems like you have another block elsewhere that does work; giving 403 forbiddens.

    So why still need .htaccess denies?

    I’ll look around my public_html for extra htaccess files when I get home. I must have gotten some folders mixed up again while uploading themes & plugins after the fresh install.

    It was a typo: ‘deny from all’. should have been ‘deny from all’…sigh
