• On shared hosting since i started using iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security) the .htaccess file permission is 444 i try to change it to 644 the changes are active for some time and then after some time the .htaccess file itself changes to 444 permission.
Why is this happening, does the htaccess file needs to be writable atleast 644 for iThemes Security to work properly ?

  • Hi,

The File Writing Permissions in System Tweaks does this. If that feature is selected anytime you save the settings it will change these permissions.

    Thanks,
