Please, someone help, I really appreciate it here…

I just installed the Static Jack plugin, and tried to edit the .htaccess file as per his instructions. Now the entire site has crashed; I cannot access anything in wordpress on the site; and I don’t know what to do! I am looking for the .htaccess file in my ftp folders, but I can’t find it….

Just to clarify, occasionally when I have been cutting and pasting into wordpress, the files get cut-off when I save them (it’s been a real pain and I haven’t had time to figure out why) but I have a feeling that’s what happened.

Do I have to re-install wordpress entirely?

Make sure that your ftp client is set to show hidden files (by default, any file starting with a “.” is hidden).

To find the .htaccess file in your ftp client remote pane, you may have to dig around to figure out how to show all files. Some clients have a “file mask” field into which you input -la or variations thereof.

Thank You Thank You Thank You!!

My heart rate has returned to normal ??

Just to help anyone reading this in the future, to find and edit the .htaccess file on your mac, go to Find>File and set properties to visibility>invisible. You can edit and save the file from the search results.
