• It appears that iThemes updates my htaccess file every couple of weeks which causes a 500 internal server error and locks me out of my WP dashboard. I have to go in and restore the htaccess file from the backend to a previous version in order to fix it.

Is this related the PHP issue with Imagely (NextGen Gallery) or something else? Other than disabling iThemes Security, is there any other way to stop this from happening?

  • Similar but different, I just fixed a site that had this appended to .htaccess:
    ress
    ress

No idea what caused it yet. Rest of the site appears to be intact. Anyone else see anything like this?

Get the 503 error every few days. Replacing htaccess solves it. Disabling iThemes Security and Google XLM Sitemaps prevents it.

I have other installs with IS that change htaccess without causing 503.

So it may be IS, GXLMS, or a conflict between the two.

    Not using Imagely.

GXLMS also caused problems with this plugin. Switching sitemap plugins to see if this helps.
