    Hey everyone,

I am kinda in panic mode. I accidently deleteed my .htaccess file! and now all of my sub directories are showing 404 pages. before I begin to write a new one, can anyone point me to a good example of one that works well with WP?

  • You don’t have to write one.
Upload an empty file named .htaccess and make it writeable (chmod=666).
Then resave your permalinks – WP will write it.

    But I can’t access WP’s admin because wp-login.php brings up a 404 page.

Is it the blog linked to your profile? That one works.

No, this is a clients blog….but fear not! You are right after I changed the CMOD on the htaccess file I was able to access the wp-login and it appears that everthing is working fine now. Thank you very much!
