.htaccess exception for separate wp instalation

So here is what I’m trying to do.

I have a WP installation at https://sgholiday.com .
Recently I added another WP installation, at https://sgholiday.com/hotels/ . Part of the reason I separate them is because I’m foreseeing a server resource problem in the future, as well as so I can have different customization, etc.

The problem is that now if I open https://sgholiday.com/hotels/ it inconsistently opens either the new WP correctly or showing https://sgholiday.com instead.

I’m using WP supercache plugin. I thought it was the source of the problem, but even when I disable the plugin, it still shows https://sgholiday.com instead. The inconsistency of which page is shown left me scratch my head as well. Even opening the URL with different browser can give me different page shown.

I tried add folder exception to the htaccess file, but it doesn’t seem to work.
