htaccess changing all the time… why?

    After I add info into my htaccess, it works fine for a few days and then magically reverts to the old htaccess? Permissions are currently 644, but if I change it will other things be upset on my blog? What is a safe chmod to change to?

    Any ideas? I just need an accurate CHMOD so that the file is secure and still works…

    I am having this same problem. Why does the .htaccess want to change? I don’t think it is malicious. Are there scripts or plug-ins that could be causing this?
