I have iThemes Security set to not allow writing to the .htaccess file (444 permissions).
I allowed writing so that Wordfence Firewall could install and it did.

Does Wordfence need to be able to write to the .htaccess file from now on?
Or does it just need permission while in learning mode?

    Great job on Wordfence.

    Hi FxMan,

If you’ve already completed the Firewall installation, you can change the .htaccess permissions back to 0444. Wordfence only needs write-access to it for the install.

    Thanks,
    Matt
