yes.. i see the posts.. what i can not do is to log on the Admin, check this URL :S
    https://testing.uberbin.net/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php
The big problem is that it seems that the .htaccess is doing something strange and dont let me log in, nor go to my blog home via individual posts archive.

Delete the .htacess and see what happens ? You’ll have to update the rewrite rules as using none after that though.

PODZ, many many thanks for helping me on this ??
I deleted the htaccess and i get access to my admin, however i cant use the permalink structure ( /archivos/%category%/%postname%/ ) i want.. ??
And thats the problem.. that permalink structure is the one im using on MT for the last 3 years and i dont want to loose it.. even when moving to WP.

I’m new to WordPress and I’m experiencing this same problem with the permalinks.

Firstly, I installed WP in the root directory and my host does support mod-rewrite. My problem is similar to everyone else’s: creating and uploading the .htaccess file into the root directory results in a 500 Internal Error message for the entire site.

And, when I try through the WP control panel (template) I get a 406 error page that says:

    “The resource cannot be displayed
The resource you are looking for cannot be opened by your browser.
    HTTP Error 406 – Not acceptable “

I get this error in both IE and Netscape 7.1.

Netscape’s error message more specifically says:
“An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/templates.php could not be found on this server.”

So, I redownloaded the software and then re-uploaded the wp-admin directory. Still nothing.

I also tried installing inside of a directory and had this same problem.

    Appreciate any help. Thanks.

BTW: my site – https://softe.org, it’s still inaccessible with the 500 error.

    Try this:
    – delete the .htaccess
    – go to options > permalinks, and update the structure but have an empty box for the permalink structure
    – delete index.php
    – upload a new index.php

    See what that does ?

OK, I just tried that (in many combinations), but I’m still getting the same results: 500 Internal Error for the entire site and (when I delete the .htaccess file) the template in the control panel shows a 406 “Not Acceptable” Error.

I also tried commanding the file 666, 755 and even 777 but still get the 500 error. And, even when I upload a blank .htaccess file (chmod 666) the template doesn’t show.

Thanks for responding though. I’m going to ask my host, hopefully it’s something they’re doing afterall (not me :-)).

okay, i’m WAYY back on page one, about 3 posts down… Doraemon says, “If you go into ‘templates’ under the admin page is there a link to your .htaccess file?”…
TEMPLATES??? i see no tempates. i clicked every tab in the dashboard, and every sub tab, and i don’t see any “templates”. please describe for those of us whose skulls are numb. thank you!

to clarify, in case it’s still a mystery…
THE ADMINISTRATION AREA FOR EDITING THE .htaccess FILE IS LOCATED HERE:
    https://your-domain-name/wordpressfolder/wp-admin/templates.php
also found by Admin>Manage>Files then look on the lower right list there.
i’m sorry, but i couldn’t figure out how to get there, so i’m just guessing that i wasn’t the only one. i knew i had seen it before– that’s what was bugging me! but i couldnt’ remember how to get back there! and although there is a templates.php file, i was looking for a menu named templates.
    ??
