hspace for images

I’m trying to add some horizontal space to an image. Below is my loop code.

<p><img src=”[staff-photo-url]” alt=”[staff-name] : [staff-position]” border=”2″ width=”250″ height=”168″ align=”left” hspace=”5″><b>[staff-name]</b>
[staff-bio]</font></p>

For some reason the hspace=”5″ tag is not working. Please advise.
