• Hi. How does Technorati claim process works? You now… you just enter your wordpress user/password and it automatically checks wheter you are the true owner of the blog.

I need to figure it out for a blog service. Thanks.

  • So, why don’t you ask technorati? It’s their process, isn’t it?

yes, but they wont say. is there any WP around there about connecting through xmlrpc in order to verify user/passwd?

Hmmm. You seem to be obsessed with this xmlrpc thingy…
    I don’t know.

The claiming process is clearly outlined on the Technorati page. Create an account, login, follow the instructions.
Stop posting questions about non-WP issues.

This IS a WP issue. Dont you get it? I need to know the way to connect to WP remotely by entering the username/password of my blog’s wp administrative console and checking if they are right.

I dont see how that isnt a WP issue… since it depends on WP structure itself.

What does this post or your other one have to do with a technorati claim? Technorati claims are easy – they either work or they don’t – but they’re easy…. you just go there, input the name of your blog and the rest of the required info, and embed the stuff they give you…. whereupon you’ve claimed your blog on technorati; or you’re the unlucky one who never gets the approval no matter what you do.

Nothing really about a technorati claim requires xmlrpc etc. So you need to provide a lot more info about what you’re trying to do etc.

    vkaryl,

technorati has various methods for claiming blogs. one of them is a specially coded solution for WP blogs, where all you have to do is type your wp username/password in order to check genuine ownership.

That is what i need to figure out. Any ideas?

Well, no, I guess not, since all I did with the dozen or so I claimed there for self and clients was do exactly that – type my wp username and pw, then embed the code.

It wasn’t rocket science for me. Not sure what to tell you, maybe just hope technorati gets back to you on it.

    Hello,

When I had a similar problem, tecnorati never answered by emails.

It seems like claiming by embedding is the easiest and fastest way to go.

If I want to add their small javascript to my homepage template with wordpress so I can use the technorati search box, how can I make changes to my homepage template?

    Thanks,
    dwjr

Dwjr – you’d probably need to add some css specific to the technorati box and so on…. I’ve never used the search stuff, so don’t have anything specific I can advise for it, other than to set up a specific class and use it in the <li></li> tagset surrounding the box.
