howto add WP onto my homepage

  • I have installed WP as a sub directory such as https://www.mysite.com/wordpress

    how can i display latest articles on my homepage (root directory) and how can i add a login/log out button on my homepage to log people into WP???

    i dont want to use WP as my main site, just for writing articles and displaying the latest articles on my own homepage. thanks
