• New to wordpress so be gentle, i’ve searched the documentation and google but can’t find an answer to what I am looking for.

This is really a 2 part question.

I am trying to design a template that has as much content on the front page as possible, for instance at the bottom there is an about me section, you click a link in the nav at the top and it jumps to that block of content.

This also applies to such things as adding a welcome message that I can dynamically change if i wish to do so.

Question 1: What is the best way to create said content? Do I create a post and assign it a specific category and then put the appropriate template tag for that specific category or post ID to show up? This is in theory so if it is practical if you can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Question 2: Is there a dynamic way to link to content on the same page from the nav bar. Same scenario above you click on about me at the top it jumps to the about me section, rather then me manually putting in a name= on the content block and manually adding a navigation link, is there a way to do this through wordpress dynamically? Thanks.

*edit: after some further reading would I use permalink_anchor to link to something on a page?
