    HELLO Woo and all.
Im importing products in bulk to woo, many products are in several categories, im using yoast to mark primary category, but i have no control over how woo lands the final URL and Permalink. Ideally id like it to be based on Primary Cat, or first item in the csv field – BUT it seems woo is making product url based on alphabetically – which fo us is incorrect.

We import products into categories via similar to below:
    MainCat1 > SubCat1, MainCat1 > SubCat2, MainCat2 > SubCat1

But where as we needed URLs – shop/MainCat1/SubCat1/product

We can get all sorts of results from woo, seemingly based on alphabetically if ‘subcat2’ starts with a and ‘subcat1’ starts with b. The product URL will land as subcat2, even though for us the main category and its URL should be otherwise.

Someone please enlighten me. Ive wasted hours trying permutations.

Hi @gabjam. There is no option in WooCommerce to specify the primary category to use in permalinks, as you’ve noticed. If you’re using Yoast to set up the primary category, you may want to use their premium Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin add-on for this feature.
