I am adding Custom HTML link through Custom HTML Widget on sidebar but the link is opening in the same window where in I want this to be opened in new TAB.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what the syntax should be for this?

    BTW, I’m using Elementor.

    Thank you in advance

    Hello @danm52 !
    Thank you for contacting us.

I was reading your previous conversation, and I understand it.

In this case, it sounds like you’re missing the Target=blank attribute. This will make a link to open in a new tab/window.
Read this post to learn how to use the HTML links: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

I hope this can help you.
Let me know if you have other questions related to Elementor.

    Regards.

    Thanks Alain,

Actually, it does not work as shown, obviously I must be doing something wrong or maybe not explaining the situation properly. Here is more detail.

The menu item that I want to open on its own tab is “Diane’s Blog” which is a submenu item under https://dianetaberpublishing.com/published-works

I’m using Elementor and the theme is Euphony. I currently have the URL pointing to Diane’s Blog located as a custom link in the “menu structure” section of Euphony (please see image below). Only a URL address is then needed to redirect the user to Diane’s Blog, but maybe I need to be using a “link” to make this work.

I tried inserting the URl as shown in the W3 Schools article, but when I insert the attribute into the space provided and “save”, the URL just disappears by itself.

Not sure if the screen shot of where I insert the URL will come through, but here it is anyway.

I hope I’ve been able to properly articulate the issue. Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Hi there,

Please note that through this channel, we can only provide support for Elementor’s existing features and do not provide support for custom code solutions, as it goes out of our support scope. We can only provide some sugestion like my collegue Alain did.

Currently, development/custom code queries (custom widgets and functions, Theme Child, custom code and CSS, BETA testing issues, compatibility issues, etc.) have to be directed to our GitHub project, where our developers will be able to assist. Kindly note that our GitHub project is not a support channel; therefore, the response times may vary. We appreciate your understanding.

I hope this helps. If I missed something, please reply if you have any further questions regarding this ticket and Elementor. I’d request that you open a new ticket for any other issue; this will allow us to give you more accurate support.

    Kind Regards,
