How to work off line

Ok, I would like to be able to make posts off line and keep them off line until I decide to upload them to my blog, either by copy/paste or other means. I would like a spellcheck and a way to upload links and all. I have tried microsoft word but i get some crazy things happening when I put it on my blog, I have heard of using notpad, but this does not have a spellcheck. Please help.
