Hi There, Im new to WordPress and I’ve just installed it to a clients site. Her page was an already functional static website which she wanted to add a blog area to. I’ve installed wordpress and made sure PHP and mysql are functioning. I can’t seem to view a default “my blog” page. All the links when I clink “view my site” in the wordpress admin area take me to her existing index.html Not to a blog area. Do I have to rename the index.php or something? What is the default “intro” blog page named? So I can link that into her current site. This is elementary I know, too much to learn. Any help would be awesome! Thanks alot.

Usually won’t get much free help since your getting paid for your work, anyway check the webserver default documents setting.

Rename the index.html to something else.

If she just wants to add the blog onto the existing site, you probably should have installed WordPress into a subdirectory.

Otto, Thanks for clarifying that. I’ll unistall and try it again in a subdirectory. Much Appreciated!
