    Hello
I’ve added the Google API key, but how can I be sure that the articles I’m deleting have the 410 header?
I’ve looked at the logs but I don’t have that.
    Thanks

You don’t have to worry too much about that. So long you have sitempa submitted in Google Search Console, Google can intelligently detect deleted pages and remove them from their index.

Yes, except that leaving 404 takes an enormous amount of time.
I’ve been deleting for 1 week now and Google still hasn’t deindexed my pages.
With a 410 it would be straightforward.
So that doesn’t really answer my question: how can I be sure that my pages have a 410 header?
I’ve checked my URLs in the search console and they all return 404.
Does this mean that your plugin doesn’t work on 410s as you claim?
    Thank you

We never said our plugin can ensure deleted pages return 410. What we provided was a simple answer to a FAQ

Can I submit 404 URLs through the API?

Yes, you can submit dead links (http 404, http 410) pages to notify search engines about new dead links.
