  • Just add the <!--more--> tag to your posts where you want the post “teaser” to end.

Does it have look exactly like you typed it.Now I just have to click at the end of a paragraph, insert more tag?It doesnt look like how you typed it.It just says more… I clicked preview and it didnt do anything.Im new to wordpress so IDK

In the Visual Editor, you can use the More button – 4th from the right on the top row of formatting buttons. Do bear in mind that the more tag only works on post listing (archive) pages and not when viewing a single post.

Im not sure Im understanding what you’re saying. So it only works on older posts?

No – it works on all posts but only on post listing pages.

What is a post listing page?Like I said Im new to this.Sorry!

Any page that lists a number of different posts. In many cases, the front page of a site is a post listing page (also called an “archive” in WordPress).

So I could use that with my homepage? That leads me to another question.
My homepage really only has one big post on it,can I continue on that same page to add different posts daily or lets say every couple of days if I have something new to say,and how would I separate the posts.

And another question how do you put a post inside a box?Ive seen that on some websites and dont know how to do that either.Must be a plugin?
Sorry but I could ask you a million questions.

So I could use that with my homepage?

If your home page is a page of posts, yes.

can I continue on that same page to add different posts daily or lets say every couple of days if I have something new to say,and how would I separate the posts.

Yes. By default WordPress automatically displays all of your posts on your main posts (home) page – with the most recent at the top. The number of posts that are shown before the “Previous Posts” link appears is governed by the number of posts per page that you defined in Settings -> Reading.

how do you put a post inside a box?

Unless you are using a theme that already does this for you, this normally requires some coding work using CSS at the very least.

Actually I have a seperate page with no content in it called Blog. All my recent posts will go to that right?I will have that set to my posts page.My home page will be set to my front page.I can add new info to my homepage, but wont that go to my blog page also?Hope Im not confusing you.

All my recent posts will go to that right?

No – not unless you have selected it as your main Posts page in Settings -> Reading because you have opted to have a static front page as opposed to a post page.

See creating a static front page.
