    Hello,

Really nice plugin, exactly what I was looking. I plan to use it for an all-round sports news website where I’ll add roasters for cricket and football players.

I saw your comment one of the previous threads that in order to change the field text we would have to translate it. Piece of cake, but what if you have two sports with different info fields needed. Any solution for that?

Also is possible to add a facebook like button to the profile bellow the picture. something like this Sample link

    Hi Seeyar-
Yes, there’s been a long discussion about this and right now you have to either modify the source or create a “translation”. I do not intent to create a ‘general purpose table’ plugin (as discuss in the threads), but I do play to add some additional formats. E.g., I’m going to add a baseball format with “Bats” (left/right) and “Throws” (left/right). If there’s a format you’d like for cricket, say, please send me the column titles you’d like to see.

I like your sample site. The RSS and the Facebook Like are good ideas. There are some plugins that provide shortcodes for Facebook Like buttons on pages/posts, but you’d have to modify the source to add them right now. I’ll put those ideas on the upgrade list and think about them more. [The next version is going to have a CSV file upload capability and any bug fixes that are identified.]

    Hello Mark,

Thank you for a the quick respond, I would like to create profiles similar to the sample above or something close to it. And I think your plugin will solve most of it ?? I’ll add html tables for stats inside the bio field and bellow your plugin try to show latest articles about the player by using the “tags” from my articles. I’m very new into coding, hope it’ll work out.

For cricket I would need following columns:
    Full name
    Born
    Major teams
    Batting style
    Bowling style
    Best Performance

Also if the thumbnail size could be reduced a little bit, so there is more space for the text columns/facts and at gallery page displaying 2 roasters in row instead of three roasters. But I guess I’ll be able changing those through firebug ??

As for the social sharing, I already have fb, google+ and twitter coded into my theme, there most be a way of moving them into the plugin.

    Best Regards,
    Seeyar

    Hi Seeyar-
Thanks for the info. I’m not sure I’m going to have a Cricket format, but I am going to have a baseball format which is going to get you a lot closer. Home Town and Country seem to work for Born. Best Peformance and Major Teams might be better in the Bio than as Roster table columns. We’ll see.

Right now you have to change the thumbnail size with the css stylesheets. I plan to add the thumbnail size to the display settings at some point. It’s on the list, probably the next release because I need it too! Just depends on how long it takes me to get the CSV roster import working.

As for social media, as I mentioned there are a number of plugins that allow you to add social media to a post or page with a shortcode. I’d use one of those, but you have to change the page/post templates. It’s on the ever-growing list.

P.S. You can always buy me coffee, which keeps me up at night to get more done. ??

    Hi Mark,

I’ve translated the plugin fields that I need, giving it a try tomorrow after work. I assume I just have to leave the remaining labels empty in order not to display them.

Sounds fear with me, if I can use the plugin, how many coffee cans on me ? ??

    Hi Seeyar,
Cool. Assuming you are talking about PoEdit, any fields that you leave blank, that is, don’t have a translation, will be displayed unchanged.

The latest release of Team Rosters includes:

    • The baseball display format with Bats/Throws; but there’s nothing for a googly guy or something. ??
    • Rosters can be uploaded from CSV.
    • Thumbnail sizes can now be set.

Coffee options are on shoalsummitsolutions.com. ??

    haha Googly Guy ??

Yeah I did see the new features, really nice ones, thanks.
I’ve uploaded the plugin, want to use the team gallery view, but it ignores the theme, https://sports.af/teams/national-team/

You’ve pointed that it may not work on all themes as it does on the one who’ve installed on your site, is my theme one of these, or can we do something about it?

Yeah, I hated those guys that bowled me googlies! They’ed piss me off so I’d take ’em yard for a Sixer! Not really. ??

I looked at the page and you’re doing great. Now you have to edit the taxonomy_player template and wrap your theme’s stuff around it like the header, footer, and sidebar(s). You may also have to re-size some of the content to make it fit.

    Hello,

Spin bowling has changed quite a lot in the last few years, so many new variations. I have played cricket a few times and I too hated spin. On TV I’m huge fan of Paceers.

I’ve managed to setup the single-player page, however, have difficulties with the gallery view page. I want to move the player info part from bellow the picture to the right side of picture. Just as it is in the single-player page. any easy solution on that?

Also how do I remove the character limit in ht, and age fields, soo that I can type longer texts as now possible in “position, country, last school”

    Plugin Author Mark O’Donnell

    (@markodonnell)

    Seeyar,
The changes to the single-player page are custom code mods beyond the scope of this forum. Please e-mail me at [email protected] and we can discuss.

Same with the character limits, which are easy enough to remove but doing so will create maintenance/upgrade issues in the future. We can discuss this off-line as well, but I’ll consider adding it to the wish-list for the next release.

    Found it Mark ??

I’ve no coding skills and work 12 hours a day, therefore very slow. But I hope I’ll be able to show you the final outcome within two days ??

    Cool. Let me know.
