  • Write a page with title home and it will show this page as your home page. Try to use the url “?cat=-0” to make a link to your “normal” blog.

The ststic front page plugin I have installed in plugin directory
Then create a page home with slug home.
but when I reload the site; I cant see any changes.
why is it happen so. I want to use wordpress for static website.
Plese anyone give me step to work static front page plugin works fine.
    thanks

it works as documented, really. you create a page (*NOT* a post) called ‘Home’, or whichever title you prefer as long as the page slug is ‘home’. And you need to activate the plugin (some forget to do this).

I’m new to WordPress. I have a similar problem.

I tried to install the Static Front Page Plugin following the directives.
But I don’t see where is the “page slug”. It doesn’t appear in my admin panel. Should I choose a special option to make it appear?

PD: I have a blog in WordPress.com too, and I see the slug field in the “Compose page” Page. But it is not possible to upload plugins in WordPress.com…

Go to Options/Writing and under “When starting a post, show:”, select “Advanced controls”.

If you have the Advanced Controls box selected in Options/Writing, you will see the Post Slug box in the lower section of the write page.

[Beat me, macmanx! Must be typing slow tonight!]

    Hi Macmanx et vkaryl,

Both of you were really quick. It works, indeed. Thanks a lot.
