How to use Source Control with wordpress?

  • Along with regular backups of my site I really have a strong preference to use source code control handle of my files. My digging via google and the forum search leaves me confused – all I can find is references to developing WP itself. Not quite what I want.

    I understand that WP consists of some files and a mysql database. Ideally I want to version both. But for a start I could live with just the files.

    Any suggestions?
