    Hello
I’m using the Bento theme with the expansion pack. I have a static home page and another separate page set up for my blog posts. I initially created my blog page with a grid page template but when I set it to be my blog posts page the grid template page setting disappeared with no option to change it back. Only parent and order are shown under page attributes. I wish to set my blog page to look similar to the Rows Grid: Right Sidebar option shown on the Bento theme demo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

    Hey @lormei,

    thank you for choosing Bento!

When you declare a page as the “blog posts page” in the “Settings – Reading” admin section, the system automatically applies the “index.php” template to it, i.e any previously assigned custom templates get overriden; this is just how WordPress works, and it’s a theme-independent feature. What you can do in your case is create a new page, apply a Grid template to it (more details in this section of the manual), and use it as your posts page, without assigning it to anything in the “Settings – Reading” interface. This will allow using static pages for both the front and the blog posts views.

    Sincerely,

Thanks very much, that works perfectly ??

How do I do that? My posts will go to the old blog page by default.

Update – I have figured it out.
