How to use Gallery in TwentyTen

I have a child theme based on TwentyTen but and have looked at the loop code. It has a loop for gallery posts but there is no category named Gallery. I’m lost. Does anyone know a) what gallery is intended for in TwentyTen and b) how to use it?
