How to use free themes correctly?

  • Free themes on www.remarpro.com doesn’t support related articles and pictures? A tried to activate more free themes, but I got the message:
    “This feature is only available in the Pro Version of Associated Posts. Unfortunately you are using the Lite Edition yet.”
    I had my purchased .com domain at WordPress before. It worked fine.
    I have changed the host, I have pointed the site to HostGator. All my followers, my Gravatar disappeared. It is normal? I am not able to use Zemanta either. It shows up on my edit mode, I can select the related articles and pictures, but on the published post they don’t work. There is no picture on the published post, but an empty frame.The related articles link doesn’t work. Should it be an installation problem? My Archive on the side bar shows the previous articles, but on the Navigation bar the Archive is empty. I am a new blogger,(few months), I need help. If you can help me, please give me a detailed instruction.

  • The same theme on .COM and .ORG are not necessarily identical — .COM often modifies them and/or adds special functionality. Some themes do have paid versions which may offer additional options or features – that’s just the way that goes. But almost always, you can add those or similar things via plugins or customizing the theme.

    What theme are you trying to use now?

    Themes:
    I am trying the Suffusion Version 4.4.6. But I have tried Twenty twelve, twenty Ten, iPage, no one let me see the pictures on the posts.
    Links:
    The “Related articles” linkes are not active either.
    Previous contacts:
    I can not find my previous followers, my Gravatar.
    Stats:
    The stats showed zero when I started at HostGator, and just started to work a few days ago, when I downloaded a new stats plugin. (Should the old stats work? Or when a host is changed, it doesn’t work anymore?)
    Archives:
    The Archives in the menu bar empty. On the side bar the Archives show the previous blogs. This is ok?
    Pictures:
    The pictures are also ok on the OLD posts.
    I have downloaded the Zemanta plugin, it is working good on the edit mode, but not on the published post. I used to use Zemanta, I would like to use it again. It is very useful for pics and links.(if it is working)
    I am a beginner, started just a few month ago and these things are very confusing for me. I would like to try a free version first to learn more about how does it work.

    Suffusion is a really great theme and has a dedicated support forum here: https://aquoid.com/news/themes/suffusion/ ; they should be able to answer any questions about how the theme works.

    If you mean your followers from your old .COM site, they don’t get moved automatically – you have to ask the .COM folks to transfer them for you. We can’t help with that. Stats are the same – if they can be transferred (I’m not sure if they can or not) – but ask at .COM about how that works. I think you’d have to be using jetpack on your new site for that to be possible too.

    I believe you also need to reset or add your Gravatar again too.

    It is a bit of an adjustment when you move from .com sites, but you’ll get it :).
