How to use frame with wordpress

  • Hhi all,
    hi have to need to insert a backgropund music player on a wp site. After searching for plugind and/or different solution, for some reasons I decided to use frames (yes, the old one). Frames permits me to insert the audio player in a header-like html file, so it can play continuosly even with page browsing. THe rest of the wp site in another frame. Is it possibile? How?

  • Frames are a big NO GO.
    There are better ways to achieve things without the use of frames.

    Just don’t use frames, period. You’ll do yourself a favor.

    I have to agree with Bees that Frames is not the way to go, but more importantly, I also think that background music on sites is a bad idea. People don’t like it when music comes up all of a sudden.

    You might want to reconsider.

    I agree with Christine, if some music starts I often kill the site or look for a way to kill the player/sound.

    @christine I agree with you, but its a customer request, obviusly.
    @beee tell me more aobut these better ways, without rethink the entire structure of the site

    Let’s reverse the question. Why do you want to use frames ?
    What is the idea behind it ?

    The problem is: having a mp3 player which play a background sound that doesnt stop with page browsing. I searched for different solution and the use of frame maybe can fix my problem, because it doesnt need plugins (and I searched for them too but no one can fully solve my problem).
    I can put the player in one upper frame and the wordpress site on the bottom frame. Thanks

    forgive that I don’t have an answer present immediately because right now I wouldn’t know an immediate solution.

    I would reconsider the frames. A popup player would make a lot more sense imo.

    It might be an idea to look at 22tracks.com (non WordPress, fully custom coded). They have a player which keeps on playing even when browsing. I know one of the 2 guys who built it, but I doubt he’ll give up the source code.
