I am using the same gallery on two different pages and want to use a different template for the NextGEN Basic Thumbnails Display Type on each page. I am doing this because I have implemented voting ( using NNG Voting Plugin) and I have added their tag to one of the templates. When I change the template on one page it gets changed on the other page. For instance, I want to use the default template on the voting page and the caption template on the other page. Am I missing something? Should this work and how do I go about making it happen?

@hardimanja – Although I would have recommended a custom template instead of modifying an existing template the premise is still the same.

When you insert the display via the IGW (“green button”) and do not want voting, use the default (read: blank) template, or whatever choice you prefer (that does not have the voting tag added); and, when you do want voting, choose the template that does have the appropriate tag.

Also keep in mind, the setting under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails for templates should be blank (just delete the current selection manually if it is not already blank).

See how that works out for you.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply. I did only enter the tag into one template, however, when I selected one template for use on one page, that selection was replicated on the second page. To be clear, when I select a template from the IGW while on one page, that selection is reflected on the second page even though I had selected a different template on the second page.

After I tried using the shortcodes instead of the IGW, the settings worked correctly and now they seem to work when the settings are made with the IGW.

Thank you for the suggestion of the custom template.
