How to use “custom css” feature?

In the dashboard if you go to WooCommerce > Checkout tab > Advanced tab > there’s an input box called “Custom CSS” but no matter what file or path or css code I put into that box there’s no effect. Can you provide a sample input please?

I think this is the feature that corresponds to the bullet text “Area to insert your own custom CSS” on your documentation page here, but searching the documentation doesn’t show any relavant results.

What I’m trying to do is edit the checkout page via CSS but my theme is a bit complicated and so the woocommerce stylsheet applies AFTER my customizer stylesheet. I thought your plugin might assist in making this easier if I can apply custom CSS to the checkout page which will actually work.
