How to use converted webp images

Thanks for your message.

From what I can see you are loading WebP files directly on your website. That’s right? It looks like you are not using my plugin but some other plugin, or you are directly adding WebP files to the media library. Please send me more information.

Thanks a lot for your response. I confirm, iam using your plugin and the plugin is active and runing.

so when i upload an image, your plugin create a webp from this iamge and place it on uploads-webpc and i find these webp files but how to force wordpress ton use the webp images created by your plugin intead of original files under upload directory, this my question.

As you can see all images on the fronted website are original images ( jpeg, png, …) not webp images converted by plugin

Ah ok so i need to check the type of the image not the extension of the image, good but just a remark why when i download this image and i convert it to webp using online tool:

i see that the size has been decreased

@mettichi What percentage of quality do you have set in my plugin settings?

Converted by my plugin (using 85% images quality in the plugin settings):
197 kB
Converter by online-convert.com (default settings):
200 kB

Remember that by converting images to WebP and adding WebP files directly to the media library you do not have support for browsers that do not support the WebP format.

If you would like to achieve better results, you can set the quality to e.g. 80% or try the AVIF format. The same image converted to AVIF (using 85% images quality in the plugin settings) weighs only 121 kB.
