How to use a custom media credit on each post

    Great plugin! Out of the box it seems like this plugin is assigning every photo the main blog post author and the title of the blog/website. Instead, I need the photo credit to show the “photographer” and sometimes “the business associated with the photographer”.

    Here’s a screenshot link – https://tinyurl.com/y5jk8emc. What should be shown in the media credit section is “Tusculum Farm Daniel Schwartz” instead of the blog post author and website name.

    How do I fix this?

    You can disable default credits (to the owner/uploader of the image, not the post author) in the settings, and you can also set a credit that will automatically be added to newly uploaded images (a sort of “custom default”, technically the same as a freetext credit set manually in the attachment details).

    In the Media Credit section of the Media settings.

    Though you might not want to change the default if this is just for a single blog post. The credit for each image can be changed via the Media Library (“attachment details”).

    I am not sure what the question is: To change the credit line for an image, you edit “Credit” (and possibly “Credit URL” if you want to link to somewhere) and click “Update”?

    As for the default credits, the relevant setting is “Default credit”.

    Maybe I have a caching issue – that’s what I am doing but I don’t see any change to the images. Does it only work with newly uploaded images?

    Changing the credit of an individual image should obviously work for existing images ??. The “custom default” in the Media settings only works for newly uploaded images. (The checkbox “Do not credit images to WordPress users” disables the normal default credits for the entire site.)
